Road torn into the sea (道が海へ) by Zo
Taizo Yoshida, director of Neighbors and photographer (please see the site Chocora) continued from Sendai to Koriyama in Fukushima on the 17th along the coastline.
Looking down from Route 6, the fields between the Route 6 and the sea were covered with mud and sand and torn houses. Containers, and agricultural machinery were scattered endlessly.
“When I came down to the road along the coastline, I saw the whole village and the railway were washed off. I tried to drive carefully not to hit the debris, looking at the cracks and subsidences. The similar wild-looking scenery continues for a long time until suddenly the road was torn and sank into the sea.”
