A strong earthquake and tsunami hit the Tohoku area on March 11th,  2011. One month  has passed but there are still many troubles; radiation from Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant, many people still missing, too many buildings and houses destroyed, volunteers unorganized, etc.

In February,  Michiyo Yoshida,  Chair of Neighbors obtained a welfare car with a lift intending to send it to an  organization for the disabled in Bali. But thinking of the disaster, she sent an e-mail to ask if any organization would like to use the car. After five minutes there was a phone call. That’s how it started.

Now the car is being prepared and some food (mostly curry packs and canned food) will be carried to Sendai, where  the Association for Aid and Relief (AAR)  has a temporary office.
